Official rules and information for the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation's PWHL Montreal 2024 Playoffs raffles

ELIGIBILITY

  • Participation is reserved exclusively to people who are 18 years of age or older and are physically located in the province of Quebec when purchasing tickets.
  • The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the draws: employees of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation, volunteers assigned to the raffles, employees of Groupe CH's IT Department assigned to implement the draws, employees of the company providing the drawing technology, members of the Foundation's Board of Directors, all persons with whom such employees and members reside, and the immediate family of such employees and members.

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  • Tickets will be sold by volunteers at PWHL Montreal games at Place Bell, as well as through an online sales platform (5050lphf.placebell.ca) administered by employees of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation.
  • Participants who attend PWHL Montreal games at Place Bell in person will receive their printed ticket listing the numbers associated with the tickets purchased. Those purchasing tickets via the online platform will receive a digital stub by e-mail, listing the numbers associated with the package purchased.
  • All the individual ticket numbers corresponding to the purchase are collected simultaneously for the electronic drawing of the winning number by a random number generator.
  • Each participant must provide his or her contact information to purchase tickets and be eligible for the draw.

 

DRAWING AND COMMUNICATION WITH THE WINNER

  • The date and time of the winning ticket draw for each draw will be announced on the online sales platform website (5050lphf.placebell.ca) and on the participant's ticket.
  • The winning number and prize will be announced on the online sales platform website (5050lphf.placebell.ca) following the draw.
  • In the event of a discrepancy between the announced (displayed) winning number and the official winning number, the latter shall prevail.
  • The person holding the winning ticket must claim the prize by contacting the Foundation by telephone or e-mail. He or she will need to send the e-mail confirmation of purchase (if purchased online) or present the printed ticket (if purchased in person), and provide proof of identity. The winning ticket holder will have fourteen (14) business days from the time of announcement to claim the prize. To facilitate the awarding of the prize to the winner, the Foundation will also use the contact information provided by the ticket purchaser to communicate with him or her during the claim period.
  • In the event that the person whose ticket is randomly selected has not claimed his or her prize within fourteen (14) business days, the amount of the prize will be invested in a program of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation approved by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec.
  • The winner must complete a declaration and release form before taking possession of their prize.
  • The 50/50 prize (winning prize) will consist in 50% of the total amount raised. In the event of a discrepancy between the announced (displayed) amount and the official amount raised, the latter shall prevail.
  • When Early Bird prize(s) are linked to a raffle, winner(s) of Early Bird prize(s) remain in the main draw to be eligible for the 50/50 cash prize as well as remaining Early Bird prize(s) as part of the same raffle. The details of Early Bird prize will be communicated on the online 50/50 platform website, including purchase deadlines and winning numbers.
  • Half-and-half cash draw prizes will be awarded via bank transfer in Canadian dollars, upon receipt of the winner's banking information, within 60 business days of the draw. In some cases, half-and-half draw prizes may be paid by cheque.
  • Once claimed, the retrieval of early bird prizes will be coordinated with the winner by a member of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation team.
  • The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation will handle the shipment of the physical Early Bird prizes to the winners. However, the Foundation will not be responsible for covering any costs related to duty or import taxes or other associated fees that may be incurred upon receiving the prizes.
  • Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions.
  • Only the holder of the winning ticket may claim the prize.
  • The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation shall have no responsibility regarding any other person who claims any interest or right to receive all or any part of the prize associated with a winning ticket. 
  • Chances of winning depend on the total number of tickets sold.  
  • Tickets are subject to verification by raffle organizers. All fraudulent tickets will automatically be removed from the draw and not give right to a prize. Unauthorized persons copying, selling or altering tickets are subject to prosecution. A raffle ticket will be void if there is proof that the ticket was stolen, not issued, ineligible, altered, counterfeit, defective, printed in duplicate, or printed/produced in error.
  • In the event that an early bird or secondary prize is added to a draw, details of the prize, its value and details of the draw will be communicated on the online sales platform website and a reference will be made on the ticket. All information concerning eligibility, the draw and communication to the winner of the prize, the other terms and conditions and the public release statement in this document will apply.

 

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • No official receipt for income tax purposes will be issued for the purchase of raffle tickets as set out by Canada Revenue Agency.
  • All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued to anyone for any reason. All tickets purchased including the draw numbers on those respective tickets that are part of the draw are non-refundable, even if a ticket purchaser has made an error in selecting the amount of tickets they wish to purchase.
  • If the integrity of the raffle is compromised in any way, the Foundation will notify the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec (RACJ) and consult the RACJ on how to best move forward. The Foundation must receive RACJ approval prior to cancelling the raffle and/or modifying the raffle rules.
  • The Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation, the Rocket de Laval Hockey Club, Place Bell, the Rocket de Laval Arena, Groupe CH, the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), PWHL Montreal and all sponsors and partners of this draw program administer it in good faith and in the best interests of the Foundation. No partner, employee or representative of any partner shall be liable for any error, system malfunction or in system malfunctions or in connection with any decisions made in connection with the administration of the program.
  • All winners release the Foundation, its partners, employees, or any other agents from any responsibility for damages they may incur by accepting or using their prize
  • This raffle program is subjected to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. The decisions rendered by the organizers are final and without appeal in all aspects of the said raffle.

 

RELEASE PUBLIC STATEMENT

  • By participation in the raffle, winners thereby grant the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation (and its representatives) the right to print, publish or broadcast their name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and biographical information for any purpose related to the Foundation and its activities without any form of compensation, including but not limited to, advertising and promotional purposes.
