What are the prizes?
The amount of the prize to be won (winner's prize) will consist of 50% of the gross proceeds received from all tickets sold at each 50/50 raffle event.
Who can participate?
Participation is reserved exclusively to people who are 18 years of age or older and are physically located in the province of Quebec when purchasing tickets. You do not have to be a Quebec resident to participate; tourists who are only visiting can also take part in our raffles. Please note that our transactional website uses geo-fencing technology to ensure you are in the province, so make sure to enable location sharing on your device or browser to allow sale.
I can't buy tickets because of geolocation problems. What should I do?
In order to be permitted to purchase tickets, you need to allow location services on your device. If you are located in the province of Quebec and are experiencing issues, you may have previously turned off location sharing on your browser or device. Please follow the steps below to change that setting and allow the site to detect your location.
On your computer :
- Open Chrome.
- In the top right-hand corner of the window, click onMorethen onSettings.
- Click onPrivacy & Securitythen onSite settings.
- Click on thePositionthen select "Authorize" from the drop-down menu.
On your iPhone or iPad (iOS):
- Open the Settings application.
- Find Safari or Chrome, depending on the browser you're using, and press it.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen, then pressLocation.
- Choose the option you wish to use by default ("Ask" or "Allow").
On your Android phone or tablet :
- Open the Chrome application.
- To the right of the address bar, pressMorethenSettings.
- Click onSite settingsthen onLocalization.
- Activate theLocalization.
How can I buy tickets?
You can purchase tickets for the raffle at en.5050.rocketlaval.com until the end of Laval Rocket home game.
To complete an online transaction, you must use one of the following card types: Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Mastercard Debit or American Express. Other mobile payment methods, such as Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Shop Pay, are also accepted.
How will I receive my tickets?
After finalizing your online transaction, you will automatically receive an email confirmation with your digital tickets attached. Make sure to enter your email address correctly with no errors when purchasing to ensure you receive your tickets.
Can I enter the same draw more than once?
Yes, you can more than one transaction for each draw, as long as the raffle is still open – you can play wherever and as often as you’d like!
Where can I find the winning number and what happens if my ticket contains the winning number?
The winning numbers and their associated prizes will be posted on the « Winners » tab at en.5050.rocketlaval.com after each raffle.
A member of the Foundation will also communicate with winners by using the contact information provided at the point of purchase. If your ticket has the winning number, you can also contact us by email at 5050fondation@rocketlaval.com with proof of your ticket.
How long do winners have to collect their prize?
If the person holding the winning number selected does not claim their prize within the fourteen (14) business days period, the prize amount will be invested in a Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation program approved by the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec.
Each prize winner must provide the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation with all information required by provincial gaming regulations. By claiming their prize, the winner gives the Foundation the right to publish their name and amount won. All prizes that remain unclaimed after fourteen (14) business days will revert to the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation.
What are the profits from the raffle used for?
Funds raised will benefit the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation in its mission to encourage physical activity and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among underprivileged youth from 4 to 17 years old.
What are my chances of winning?
Chances of winning depend on the total number of tickets sold at the time of the draw.
How long does it take to receive my tickets?
Tickets are generally sent to your e-mail address within 5 minutes of payment. There are several reasons beyond our control, including high sales volume, that may cause a delay in receiving your tickets by email. Please ensure that you do not enter your e-mail address incorrectly at the time of purchase to ensure that you receive your tickets, and check your junk mail if you still have not received them within a few hours of your transaction. However, in the event that you still have not received your tickets by e-mail within one hour of the transaction, please send us an e-mail at5050fondation@rocketlaval.com.
I think I made a mistake in my email address when I bought my tickets. What should I do?
If such an error occurs, please contact us at5050fondation@rocketlaval.comPlease be sure to include your full name and contact details so that we can trace your transaction.
Is the prize taxable, and are raffle tickets tax-deductible?
Raffle winnings are not taxable in Quebec. However, no official receipt for income tax purposes will be issued for the purchase of 50/50 tickets, as set out by Canada Revenue Agency, because it provides the purchaser with a chance to win and is therefore not a charitable donation.
Can I get a refund?
All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds issued to anyone for any reason. All tickets purchased and entered into the draw cannot be refunded, including if ticket purchaser made an error in selecting the number of tickets they wished to purchase.
Can I give my tickets as gifts?
Tickets are non-transferrable. The prize will be awarded to the individual whose name appears as purchasing the ticket.
